The Sindh Digital Media Forum (SDMF), in collaboration with the Department of Colleges Education, Government of Sindh, organized a Youth Empowerment Seminar at Adamjee Government Science College, Karachi, under the theme “Countering Disinformation, Fostering Truth – Empowering Youth as Digital Media Ambassadors and Cyber Scouts.”
The seminar aimed to educate college students on the positive and responsible use of digital media, the dangers of misinformation, and the importance of fact-checking and cyber ethics. It forms part of SDMF’s ongoing province-wide initiative to promote digital literacy and responsible online citizenship across Sindh.
Addressing the seminar, Prof. Meraj Siddiqui, Chief Patron of SDMF, emphasized the growing need for youth awareness in today’s digital age. “Our young generation must learn to question before they share. Responsible digital behavior is as vital as academic excellence,” he said. He added that forums like SDMF play a crucial role in nurturing critical thinking and promoting truth in the online space.
Nawazish Ali, President of SDMF, highlighted that the initiative represents Pakistan’s growing commitment to responsible digital development. “The youth of Sindh are the architects of Pakistan’s digital future. By empowering them as Digital Ambassadors, we are shaping a generation that values truth, technology, and trust,” he remarked.
